Why Turtle

A towel that stays where you put it

Magnets are built into the corners of every Turtle towel. Fold a corner over the machine you are using, a bench frame, a tennis net post, a railing or a car door, and it grips. Fold two corners together and they hold to each other, so the towel hangs flat instead of sliding onto the floor.

It started on the floor

Every towel we owned ended up somewhere it should not be. On the gym floor. Balled up on a bench. Blown off a sunbed and into the sand.

The usual fix is a plastic clip, which snaps, or a loop, which needs a hook that is never there. So we looked at where towels actually get used — gyms, courts, jetties, car boots — and noticed the obvious thing: almost every surface in those places is metal.

So we built the magnets into the corners. Not clipped on the outside, where they catch and break, but sealed inside the hem where they survive the wash. Fold a corner over a bar and it grips. Fold two together and the towel hangs off itself.

The material followed the same logic. A towel is only useful if it is ready when you need it, so we made both towels 100% microfibre — lighter, smaller in the bag, and dry again long before cotton would be.

What we hold to

Four rules

Fix the annoying thing

Towels do not need reinventing. They need to stop ending up on the floor, and they need to be dry when you next want them. Both of ours start from a small, real irritation rather than a trend.

Say what it is

100% microfibre. Magnets in the corners. Two towels, three prices, all on the page. No spec sheet you need a glossary to read.

Build it to be washed

A towel that cannot survive the machine is a disposable product. The magnets are sealed inside the hem rather than clipped or glued on, for exactly this reason.

Do not fake the rest

We launched this week. So there are no reviews on this site, no customer counts and no bestseller badges — because we would have to invent all three.

The material

Why microfibre, not cotton

Cotton holds water deep in the fibre, so it stays heavy and takes a long time to dry. Microfibre releases it far faster. That makes our towels lighter to carry, smaller to pack, and — the part that actually matters — ready to use again sooner. Wash it, hang it up, and it is dry.

The magnets

Why the corners

Corners are where a towel naturally folds over something. Put the magnets there and the towel grips whatever is nearest — the machine, the net post, the railing — without you thinking about it. Fold two corners together and it holds to itself, so it hangs flat and dries evenly.

Where we are

We are new

Turtle is launching now, with two products. You will not find review scores, customer counts or bestseller badges on this site, because we would have to make them up — and a brand that invents its first thousand customers is not one worth buying from.

What we can tell you is exactly what the towels are made of, exactly what they cost, and exactly what the magnets do. The rest we will earn.

Two ranges. Magnetic corners, 100% microfibre, soft on the skin, and no small print about what they are.
